Harold Garfinkel. Biografia

Between 1946 and 1952 Garfinkel trained in the Department of Social Relations at Harvard University under the supervision of Talcott Parsons (q.v.). Responsible for initiating a school of sociology known as ethnomethodology (q.v.), Garfinkel is interested in analysing the methods used by people in everyday life to describe and make sense of their own activities. His main publication is a collection of essays, Studies in Ethnomethodology (1967).
